State and local policy is critical to economic well-being. Much of the work done by EARN groups is researching, developing and advocating for economic policy that works to the benefit of all—providing opportunity, security, family-supporting jobs, fair treatment in the workplace, a healthy environment and safe communities. These are achieved through important investments in the public structures that underpin the long-term success of our states and communities: investments in education, transportation, water, health, public safety, energy efficiency and creating a work environment that is good for workers and their families. Reports and analysis on specific policies can be found by search the EARN group websites. Here are links to a set of comprehensive plans offered by EARN groups, national groups that offer insights into forward-thinking economic develop strategies, and the economic agendas of 2006 gubernatorial candidates.
